“This is what I’ve been looking for! Sure, we can watch Industry without knowing anything about about the finance world because the writing, directing, and acting show you how high the stakes are and the shifting interpersonal relationships and power dynamics drive the stories. But when you actually understand what is happening in a transaction and someone in the know (like Kristen and Jen) contextualizes it, the plot becomes that much richer.
I am so excited for you two that you’re just beginning season 1, and you still have two and a half seasons to go. You might want to check out interviews with Konrad Kay and Mickey Down, the creators who worked in finance before this project. Also, you might enjoy the podcast “The Watch” which has been doing incredible analyses of the characters, plot, etc since the beginning.
Please, please, please do more episodes to break down the financial aspects of the show. I just watched episode 6 of season 3 last night and things are getting far more complex! Most of us do not understand the intricacies of what’s happening but do get the references to Lehman Bros. Please catch up soon and help us out!”
