Despite challenges from Hurricane Helene, a record number of people voted early in North Carolina this week. Helene, the deadliest U.S. hurricane since Katrina, caused significant damage. As of Saturday, 90% of early voting sites were operational, with over 353,000 people voting statewide on Thursday. Despite ongoing recovery efforts, officials expect most voters to cast ballots in person over the next two weeks.
