The Shadow Side of Healing Culture with Dr. Erin Yu-Juin McMorrow

Description
The seat of therapist or healing professional is a very privileged role and as such, I believe we have a duty and responsibility to be doing our own inner work. In a position of power and with the shadow unchecked it is all too easy to get stuck in a trap of unconscious manipulation, vying for power and control, or using the work to focus on others in order to neglect our own suffering among other things.  When we acknowledge the shadow we invite in another layer of truth and authenticity to the work, which in turn creates a safer container for the client to show up with all their parts, especially the ones we would rather not name. In this episode, Molly Mitchell-Hardt interviews friend, author, speaker and coach, Dr. Erin Yu-Juin McMorrow.  They discuss: The impact of putting ideas in print and being seen by friends and familyThe necessity of allowing for a gestational period for ideas before sharingThe vulnerability and responsibility of being a public-facing figureThe shadow of content creationThe shadow of the "healing space"Coming back to the body as "truth teller"The role of overriding The necessity of discernment Signs working with an aligned healer vs. healer with ulterior motivesFind Pilar Brooks: Follow Erin @dr.erinmcmorrow.
