My new favorite podcasts
I really enjoyed... scratch that, I absolutely loved the podcast about being in one of the quietest places in the US. I live in Crow Oregon and manage 400 acres of private timberlands behind my house with very few houses which border it. I was working in my shop listening to this podcast, when it was finished I found myself at a standstill as far as finishing my work. Next thing I knew I was pulling the hammock out and hiking to the farthest west part of the property I maintain for some peace and quiet. Although I could hear an occasional plane overhead and some slight road noise every 15 or 20 minutes, I absolutely was magnetized to find a quiet piece of heaven myself. Thank you for inspiring me to do the same as you guys! I realized I have not sat still in complete silence, phone turned off, and no friends with me in a very long time. The last time I found peace and quiet like that was when I decided to do a nighttime hike by myself into the woods. I never realize how quiet things are this close to my house. I could hear the sounds of birds and an occasional animal crunching the leaves and sticks behind my hammock. It was a very rewarding experience. I love all of the podcasts I have heard from you. Thank you for turning an ordinary day into an extraordinary day!

Every episode excellent. He’s chosen cool stories from wild and urban/suburban/exurban places. His personal experiences and expertise as a biologist make it even more compelling. So far the stories have been hopeful rather than hopeless, as wildlife stories often are.
