Commission of Investigation into Mother and Baby Homes
Hello, I just finished listening to this Jan 15th Podcast. I feel sadness listening to the stories from Kathy Sheridan’s guests Rosemary Adaser and Noelle Brown. Both women are captivating. I feel enraged on their behalf. The raw sense of unfairness in how they were treated by the authorities along every step of their journeys is simply overwhelming. I felt a sense of hope listening to Mairead Enright, your legal academic. Her voice represents what I wish to hear in my Ireland of the future. A reasoned voice of hope. A beacon of light for the voices of Irish women both at home and like me, abroad. Thank you for this chance to know that sensible minds can prevail. We need to hear more from these terrific women. We do indeed need to hear more of these stories and less (please let it happen!) of the bloody revolutions. Revolutions which pushed our gender further into kitchen cupboards. Thank you for giving me the chance to hear this. Margaret Harvey-O’Kelly (Ottawa canada)
