“I am a huge fan of the show, and of Jim Lindsay, but CFR needs to get rid of Bob.
Jim is a first rate strategic thinker. His ability to methodically unpack issues is unparalleled, and his analysis is a rare treat.
Bob is a capable journalist who reads widely but simply does not bring the intellectual horsepower that many CFR experts do. He typically just regurgitates whatever he remembers reading last week. I can get what he offers from any mainstream newspaper.
Either replace Bob with Richard Haas (when feasible) or shift to 4-6x mini “President’s Inbox” style segments, where Jim gives 1-2 minutes of context, then briefly interviews a CFR expert on the upcoming event.”
