“The podcast is exactly what any fan of the X-Files wants; discussion about each episode of the X-Files, with lots of details and facts, some behind the scene info, and some really capable, knowledgeable, and humorous hosts.
The main host, Tony, and regular guests/co-hosts like Carl, Sarah, Zack, or Darren are brilliant; They all have the chops to carry the podcast. They guide discussion, keep guests and listeners engaged, and conversation flowing. They know their stuff, clearly love the show, and it really pays off when any of them are present.
The show falters when it has other hosts and/or guests on, who simply don’t have the charisma, knowledge or gravitas to keep you listening. Occasionally, the most popular or most talked-about x-files episodes are given to some of the worst hosts and guests, which is surprising and confusing. For example; It’s jarring when the show switches to hosts who swear a lot, or simply don’t have the charisma to carry a conversation.
The only other drawback is that, for some reason, episodes weren’t originally recorded in a linear way. Episodes are jumbled and mixed up, so hosts and recording quality vary wildly, so the podcast suffers as a whole.
Overall, it’s a good podcast, but it could be great.”
