An Anorexia suffer
Hi Dom, Thank you so much for your very interesting podcast. I’ve suffered from Anorexia since 2011, after the birth of my second daughter. It was all about control. I lost control of my life, as my baby was extremely demanding. The only control I could have on my life, was what I ate and exercise. It became a complete obsession. l would eat less each day and exercise more and more. I remember my relatives not understanding and just saying eat a piece of chocolate cake or have a chicken pie!! Obviously these are not what an anorexic person wants to hear. I remember being so ill l ended up shopping in the child’s clothing departments because adult clothes weren’t small enough around my waistline and only some stores had size 0. My lowest point was actually going to bed at night time and not being able to see properly because I hadn’t eaten enough. After proper medical treatment and counselling l’m now getting better. The most important thing to me is my girls and making sure l’m an excellent role model for their future. Thanks Dom for reading this!! From a big fan Vanessa!! ( who saw you at the forum on Monday night in Kentish Town with my eldest daughter Isabel!!) x
