Joy shows me my needs and supports my desires. Joy takes up space too; it expands and before you know you’re surrounded by it. When black women center joy we create more space in the world for all black women to thrive. We expand possibilities for black women. We show more ways that black women can happily exist. Joy is revolution because it is at odds with forces that benefit from our smallness.”
