Not great.
Lysa is good. She’s not claiming to be a counselor or a theologian. She’s bringing to the podcast her experience and what she has learned and brings good topics and discussions that are relevant to the table. The problem comes in with Joel and Jim. I don’t know how many times I’ve heard “your truth” from the professional counselor. Is truth subjective? The “theologian” seemingly uses eisegesis, placing a counseling or therapy concept over scripture and reading passages through the lenses of the concepts. Forcing certain ideas into scripture that’s aren’t there or not where the hosts say they are. Not good. It was hard to get through to the episode on the topic of boundaries because of that. I think this podcast is the only one of it’s kind and I applaud its attempt. There needs to be more melding of psychology and theology in a biblical, practical and effective way. Many go to the extreme in either direction and loose the benefits of the other. And these individuals aren’t as biblically accurate as I’d hope.

Thank you for helping pull apart forgiving the facts of what happened versus the impact of what happened. The impact is much harder. Yet you give a way to navigate that. And validate the time it takes.
