Description
RawFaith is a documentary about a man driven by a mission to build and sail a 100 foot handicapped accessible galleon to distant shores. Our own notions of personal priorities and obligations to others will be prompted by the experiences of the McKay family, RawFaith and its mission.
Looking to take on a new challenge, family patriarch George McKay coalesces his family around the idea of building a three masted galleon that would accommodate the family and the needs of their daughter Elizabeth with Marfans Syndrome as a floating family compound. The ship evolves into a broader mission to take other handicapped families on accessible adventures but its evolution saw the dissolution of a marriage and the departure of Elizabeth and his three sons from the project after its launch. George McKay continued to pursue the mission with a solitary focus until the ship’s tragic sinking in a December storm off Nantucket, MA.
RawFaith is a collaboration between SeaWorthy Productions and Post Office Editorial. We are working towards a summer 2012 release and are looking for $5000 to help offset the cost for music and a project "sound sweep".
