Amazing addition to any true crime lover's go-to list!
This true-crime podcast comedy podcast is hosted by two sisters, Courtney and Sadie Eck. They try to keep the intros short, focus on lesser covered cases, and sprinkle in some light-hearted comedy. In one of the first episodes, they put out the disclaimer that they aren’t trying to disrespect the victims or what they’ve gone through which after listening to all of the episodes twice I can confirm they do a great job of keeping it thoughtful and courteous. Itunes only has 117 reviews but an average of 4.7 stars so if you’re a fan get over there and show them some love. Every one of my friends who listen to true crime podcasts consistently refers to these ladies as one of their top go-to podcasts so it’s crazy to me they don’t have that many reviews. 49 episodes total all about an hour-long with new ones coming out weekly on Wednesdays. OwlTail has the top episodes as The Chilling Murder of Alianna DeFreeze, The Puzzling Murder/Suicide of Scott Rogers and Mathew Hodgkinson, and The Dog Mauling Death of Diane Whipple. I found the dog mauling episode a little off-putting on the first listen but after listening to a second time and doing my own research into Presa Canarios I didn’t find anything they said to be offensive or judgemental about the breed or other breeds in general. My favorite episodes are The Puzzling Murder of Karen Navarra and The 2006 Phoenix Serial Shooters. The story of how they solve Navarra’s murder involves twist and turns from the victim and where she was murdered to what they use to solve the case. All of it was stuff I hadn’t heard in any case before and I listen to a ton. Audio and music are fine and not disrupted although there are some volume issues in the first couple episodes but those are completely cleared up by episode four and are really only an issue on some headphones. Sidenote: For those who haven’t heard my spiel on Pocket Casts you have to try it. Their interface is easy-flow, they have every podcast I’ve ever looked up, and a ton of cool settings like volume boost for those oddly quiet episodes and silence trim to cut out any long pauses a show forgot to edit. None of that being an issue with this pod just wanted to mention it for those looking for a new platform. Not affiliated at all, just love it’s available for everyone for free. Similar Pods: Morbid, Red Ball, Down the Hill: The Delphi Murders, Your Own Backyard, True Crime Campfire, That’s so F****d Up, Crimelapse, Wife of Crime, True Crime Investigators, Evidence of a Crime, Murder and More, Pray for the Wicked, Worse Than Fiction.

Not researched very well. Just google Aurora/Chicago to understand, don’t make us listen to you try and decide how to say every. Single. Word. Don’t speculate that Aurora is a small suburb (it’s gigantic).

I really love true crime podcasts, but this one is an instant classic. I really gravitate towards the hosts’ conversational style; I also really like the various cases that they profile in each episode.

Sadie and Courtney bring their own unique personalities to the age-old tradition of true crime podcasting. Their wit and humor balance out the nature of the material and somehow I feel like less of a jerk for laughing at inappropriate times (necessary levity). Thanks for creating another...Read full review »
