The Bible and Immigration
The episode titled “The Bible and Immigration” is a misnomer. The guest, Markus Zehnder, introduces exactly zero scripture to support his claims about a Biblical view of immigration. In fact he refutes all 3 of the passages introduced by the hosts and performs some outlandish theological gymnastics in his attempts to prove that these scriptures do not mean what they say. He appeals to sociology, economics, and “common sense” at length but offers up no scriptural or spiritual support for his idea that immigrants should not be allowed in large numbers and that the few who are allowed should “assimilate” to western culture or leave. If you came here (as I did) looking for scripture on the matter you won’t find it in this episode. Deuteronomy 10:17-19 God loves foreigners Deuteronomy 32:7-9 divine ordering of borders Acts 17:26-27 God makes a country’s boundaries 2 Kings 14:23-27 prophecy of restored border Exodus 12:43-49 strangers can take Passover Leviticus 19:33-34 treat strangers like natives Leviticus 25:35-36 Support stranger and brother 1 Kings 8:41-43 Hear foreigners prayers in temple Isaiah 56:1-8 foreigners brought to Holy Mountain Ezekiel 47:13-14, 21-23 Equal inheritance to strangers and their children

Sean— that interview with Colby Martin was so good! I love how you’re not afraid to bring on guests who don’t line up with you theologically or biblically. Your grace, love and gentle way to challenge them in the Truth is very evident. I just pre-ordered your latest book. I can’t wait to read...Read full review »
