“A great podcast that starts with the recent memory of the child abuse allegations. Then it dives into Michael Jackson’s life. All of it.
Back to the - for me rather unknown - child, the Jackson 5, the solo career, the superstar. Then on to the controversies, strangeness, and latter years. And back to the present.
This is a great route.
The podcast weaves a story so much more complicated than just the songs I too grew up with and the headlines in the news. The abusive father, the racism, the tabloids, MTV, the (manufactured?) persona, there’s so much I didn’t know. It was great to get such a complete and nuanced view of Michael Jackson’s life.
So, at the end you’ve really reviewed his life. Loved it.”
