Attachment Styles
Hi Ashlyn, I’ve been listening to your podcast for what seems like forever. I’m an addict who has journeyed beside you and Coby at a distance. Im grateful that you continue to look for ways to educate the recovery community, this is no small feat. It’s been 4 years since my journey and treatment began at Gentle Path at the Meadows behavioral health with Dr. Patrick Carnes’ team. This is when I first heard of attachment styles. You see I was diagnosed with “Fearful Avoidant” aka - disorganized attachment. I felt that the podcast down played or did not enlighten listeners of the fearful avoidant style. It is extremely sad for those who struggle with this attachment style as I do. Though I yearn and desire deeply to be in relationship, to reconcile, to be intimately connected to my now ex-wife and two beautiful children, I fight with my inner demons that have kept me exiled from all those I love. I believe that this particular attachment style deserves more attention. Though it’s easy to see the handicap of someone in a wheelchair, a person who struggles with this attachment style may seem perfectly normal, but yet are being shredded from the inside out. We do very much desire connection and to be loved just like anyone else. Thank you for all you do and for pouring your heart into educating your listeners. In his mercy and grace Fern

Loved the podcast with Katy Marie!! I’ve been actively searching Breathwork classes and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) in my area after listening to the last two podcasts. Kicking myself for not signing up for the retreat. Sounds like it’s going to be amazing. Best of luck!!

I have to hop on and leave a BIG ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for your show in general, and your episode w Alison on “there is no problem. As a divorced mom who’s been through her dark, I’ve often pressed my brain when it’s in that dark place and asked “ what if this wasn’t a problem?” What could that look like?”...Read full review »
