“I dislike True Crime as a concept, but especially as an entertainment genre, for most of the obvious reasons.
Love faux-True Crime, though!
This brilliantly mocks the genre, using dull and damaging - to razor sharp - wit and parody. Sure, it gets a bit meta in spots, but that’s expected given what they’re doing. The endings aren’t surprising if you’re familiar with the tropes and cliches, but that’s perfectly fine, too, and not really the point.
Well done, people.
