“I’ve always loved the gardening analogy of companion planting used in education. Gardeners place certain vegetables and plants near each other to increase the growth for each individual plant. If you plant a marigold next to most plants in a garden it will grow strong!
Monica’s podcast has been a source of positivity and joy for me. It can be hard to feel as if you are fighting the good fight alone in your classrooms each day. However, Monica’s stories provide a sense of shared belonging, joy, and inspiration. Many of the episodes contain practical but powerful strategies that anyone could implement quickly and see results. I have implemented the deck of cards challenge and my students BEG and plead to do this daily. From this 5th grade teacher, I thank you for you inspiration and passion!”
