Surprise! A biased storyline.
It should come as no surprise that OPB tells a rose colored version and veers to one side of this story. Glorifying the protests of the environmental and eco-terrorists just confirms biases that we all hope would have been set aside for this story. Why can you not interview more of the people who’s families and livelihoods were destroyed around Oakridge and Mill City, Lakeview, La Grande and numerous other communities across our state. Storming a courthouse and jail during a protest is not a noble act, no matter how just you believe your cause is. There are ways to coexist and this podcast does the least amount possible to speak for the people most affected culturally, emotionally and financially. It’s been close to 30 years since the beginning of this battle and what the landscape looks like in Oregon right now, on September 23 2020 is a direct result of that. Drive up the Santiam River, Mackenzie River or the North Umpqua and see for yourself what you have done to our beautiful state. While you’re at it, go to Lakeview, Estacada, Klamath Falls and see the economic devastation that was caused there. This story is bigger than you realize.

With the timber beast and forest service with their fingers on the chainsaw triggers, and after our old growth forests this podcast could not have come at a better time. I’m tired of field checking our public land timber sales only to find myself walking in pristine forests, which are on the...Read full review »
