“If life were perfect, I would have posted this last week as a special New Years audio drama review. But better late-then never I present the audio drama mini-series TIME:BOMBS. The story follows Simon Teller leading the NYPD Bomb Squad on New Year’s Eve. This series is brought to you by Gabriel Urbina, Sarah Shachat, & Zach Valenti (@zachvalenti), the creative forces behind Wolf 359 and the No Bad Ideas Podcast.
You would think a job that was literally life and death would be done by serious, stone cold, professionals. Gabriel Urbina (@nothingnovel) and Sarah Shachat (@shach_attack) paint a much different picture, this squad reminds you much more of Hawkeye and Trapper John from M*A*S*H as they are telling jokes and doing bits while disarming a detonator from several pounds of plastic explosives.
Time Bombs was born from of a challenge to produce an audio drama in a week, I would hope that they would consider taking a week every year to produce more of this series. I would love for them to touch base with theses characters in the future, even if it is to make sure they still have all ten fingers and toes.”
