Welcome to The Legendary Bullet Podcast.
In this third episode, Gordon May speaks to Subhash Sharma, one of the first Bullet explorers from India. In 1971, Subhash and three friends set off on a mammoth 67,000-mile journey on two secondhand 1960’s 350cc Bullets, in the process becoming the first-ever Indian citizens to ride motorcycles around the world. Subhash, the only surviving member of the team, shares his memories of this groundbreaking journey with us.
Unveiled 90 years ago in 1932, the legendary Bullet has stood the test of time as a sports bike, a trials bike, a commuter, a vehicle for exploration, the basis of tens of thousands of custom builds, and an ally of the armed forces. In India, it has been the king of the road since 1955 and unquestionably laid solid foundations for Royal Enfield as we know it today.
In recognition of its unprecedented endurance as the longest motorcycle model in continuous production, we will be talking to people to whom the Bullet means everything over the coming months. They are explorers; restorers and mechanics; customisers and members of the Bullet riding community.
