The next in the series sure doesn't disappoint
... although 'time as it is,' I'm not sure what 'next' means. This is an astounding series, a masterpiece of writing and production. The language is that beautifully ornate and yet spare language that I so loved in Deadwood, but it transforms it into appealing and remarkable and heroic characters in this format. A bit of background - listen to the first book first. This is weird western scifi noir (ooooh!) in a sort of post-apocalyptic world - although I'm still wondering about the nature of this apocalypse. People try to get by in dusty towns. Some look out for themselves, others try to adhere to their values, whatever those might be. It is a hard and dangerous world. The story develops, it arcs, characters keep struggling through. And the end, once again, had me in tears. Can't wait for #3!

I really can't wait to see how all this concludes. An excellent continuation of a great story.
