Don’t like date nights???
So...a few episodes ago Rebecca went on about how she didn’t like the date night idea, or concept. I listen with a good friend each week and we both looked at each other and said the same thing...she doesn’t have kids!!! And I’m not talking about a baby or even a toddler...I’m talking about multiple kids that are over the age of 5! We need to ESCAPE in order to have a conversation with our husbands that lasts longer than an episode of any given show! I have teenagers right down to a 5 year old and we struggle to have any quiet time to ourselves (with the exception of our bedroom, but they stay up later than us too, lol). Going out gives us some privacy and focussed quality time that we just can’t get at home. We don’t go out and drop 50 bucks every date night, and our schedules are so that we don’t even get a weekly “date night”. But we certainly make time to LEAVE the house at least 1-2 times a week for a walk or hike, just to escape the noise. So, please, I really think you’re missing the voice of that 35+year old mom who has kids older than toddlers on your podcast. You have the millennial married with no kids, and Sheila, you are a voice of wisdom for sure...but maybe think about someone who’s in the thick of things - juggling being a wife, mom to preteen/teens, and even working part time. I think you have a huge audience of that demographic (I know, because I’ve recommended the podcast to my friends in this same category as me, lol), use that to your advantage instead of risking losing them - true story, I listen to some of those podcast spots with Rebecca and I skip over, or don’t agree with what’s said (and it’s not because I’m an “anti-millennial!), but because there’s an evolution to marriages, friendships, and basic relationships as you get older! Make sense? I’d love to spend more time on this with you if needed! Keep up the awesome work Sheila!

I love listening to Sheila and the Iron Sharpens Iron episodes are great. Thank you for responding so graciously to the woman who says her abusive husband has repented.

Love Shelia! She is honest and straightforward as well as not afraid to question norms. She has really helped me work through some bad mindsets!
