A waste of time in every way.
I listened to every episode hoping this podcast would change my mind. It didn’t. Just more coddling and excuse-making for the white rural culture that cares about no one but themselves. I know, I came from that culture (just like more than half of people currently in the “urban liberal bubble”, btw). This endeavor is based on naive assumptions. To say that these people listen to Hannity et al because they are the only voices speaking to white rural America is to get it backwards: they listen because those are the voices speaking specifically to *only* white rural America. They are not brainwashed. Toxic conservative media exists because it is what these people actually want. It indeed reflects their values. It’s time the rest of us stop making excuses for this hateful culture and actually focus on our own interests.

It gives me hope that organizers are engaging rural America, we can’t afford to give up on each other. This podcast shows us new ideas and creative solutions that involve building coalitions by actually listening and respecting each other.

Powerful stories from rural communities working to win progressive change and to combat racism and white supremacy. The stories being told here are ones that the whole country needs to hear as we approach November.
