“I’m just not sure who this show is for. The idea seems to be “movie podcast by and for people who don’t like movies” but if you don’t like movies why would you want to listen to a movie podcast? And if you do like movies you’re going to quickly get frustrated with how the hosts refuse to really engage with the movie on any level and often seem to have not even been paying attention to it. I’d understand if this was more of a comedy podcast that just used “we watched a movie” as a vague launching point for doing riffs or whatever but they don’t even really do that. They mostly just talk about how they thought a movie they only kind of watched was confusing because they weren’t paying attention to it. Idk, the hosts seem like nice people, and people seem to be enjoying the show, so that’s great, I just don’t understand the appeal.”

“I’ve seen all these movies. And I could point you to 10 podcasts about how great The Godfather is. If that’s what you want, feel free to go there. What these two are doing is watching movies in a contemporary way, without pomp. And they’re pretty funny too.
