“These two hosts got famous because they had a podcast making FUN of Britney and then pivoted to talking about her case, which is fine, but they handle it in a really offensive way.
They started their initial podcast as making fun of someone, which is never okay, and somehow now they’re the champions of the #FreeBritney movement?
Not to mention - the name of this podcast being a song pun, the art being “cutesy,” and the big focus on the hosts as personalities all contributes to this podcast being offensive vs. informative and uplifting. This is the definition of #girlboss meme - two people turning abuse of someone into a “clever” podcast idea to monetize and make a career off of. Abuse should NEVER be shared in the way this has been done, especially when it’s a case that sets precedence for horrifying abuse of disabled people.
The information is important to share, but this style and design is NOT it.
Also - how are all of these reviews from BEFORE the podcast came out? Clearly they’ve been requesting five star reviews because there’s no way everyone LOVES the podcast that they’re “excited” for (a month before it came out).”
