“Jason Traeger is a multi-faceted artist whose greatest talent in my opinion is his gift of gab. His ability to weave a tale and engage in conversations that meander through subjects from the hilarious to the intimate to the cosmic is legendary to anyone who has seen his shows or hung out with him.
This talent is front and center in this podcast and results in episodes that always leave me wanting more. On its surface, Traegermethod is about his experiences as a teenager in the hardcore scenes of the early 80s. The first-hand accounts of the insane shows and personalities of that era are engrossing enough but unlike cookie-cutter “history of hardcore” docs, the natural flow of the conversations and the quality of guests reveal layers of insight about identity, friendship, memory, music, creativity, spirituality and more. That’s what I love about this podcast, it’s like eavesdropping on the the most interesting conversations between friends but then it leaves you thinking about your own journey and how all of us navigate who we are through music and weird connections.”
