Disappointing
I had high expectations because of Condé Nast’s reputation as a leading consumer lifestyle media brand. This podcast simply doesn’t live up to the CN standard. The production values are very low and there are far too many amateurish qualities throughout the podcast to list here. The tacky electro-pop music they drop in for opening/closing introductions inspires nothing related to travel and let’s you know from the start it’s an immature product. It’s a minor thing but says it all. The discussions are totally unscripted and have a rambling tendency with no structure. The NYC perspective on everything is extremely small-minded for a national audience (while there is almost no regard for an international audience). I could go on with more criticism, but it’s just such a mess. They need to start over. The most entertaining part of it for me is listening to what a train wreck it is. It sounds like they just hastily put a microphone in front of a few editors, who rope in a friend or two, and just blab on with a lot of anecdotal nonsense and far too many plugs for other poorly produced podcasts. It isn’t witty, intelligent, inspiring. It simply identifies good. Really Condé Nast?? You could do so much better. CN should be the market leader here, but this disappointment of a podcast instead makes me lose respect for the brand, and also has me questioning who CN hire as editors. The ones on the podcast detract from the integrity of the brand.

I’ve listened to 3-4 episodes so far, & while there is some helpful content, the presentation makes me wonder if I can go on. It’s like listening to drunk friends who talk over each other and who drop more F-bombs as the podcast goes on. It seems like the cast would benefit from the services...Read full review »

Mr.
I subscribed to this podcast because I enjoy learning about all aspects of travel. I did not subscribe to listen to political dialogue. The hosts need to keep their political feelings to themselves and focus on travel.

“Yeah, so no,” the hosts need to realize they start LITERALLY every sentence with one of these verbal crutches and it is very grating after a short time. I’m a long time CN Traveler subscriber and wanted to like this podcast, but between the aforementioned issue and the constant shade thrown at...Read full review »
