“We discovered this podcast during a roadtrip and have become absolute junkies since then, going deeeeeep into the historical archive. This is a really well-constructed, cleverly researched trivia game that has a several different kinds of rounds. I personally love the music round. My wife is pretty good at the connection round and anagrams. My 10 year old likes to play along, too. The downside is the near-constant sociopolitical progressive hectoring that the hosts intersperse throughout. I’m a Dem, and I still just can’t stand it. I really believe these kinds of attitudes — or more accurately, the the apparent need to grandstand and moralize about them in non-political moments — are why we lost the median voter and the election to Trump. Do you go to trivia to be lectured on how to raise your male children so that they aren’t opposed to movies named after a strong female lead? Me neither.”
