“This is a great listen! it’s like book club, but for all stories Trojan war. The story is great (of course. Stories don’t last 3000 years if they’re not great) and Jeff is a fun storyteller who clearly really enjoys what he does.
I like learning about the different versions of some parts of the story, usually in the post-story commentaries. The ones that stand out to me right now are the different ways Helen is portrayed, as well as “was there really a Trojan horse and if not what happened?” and also Jeff’s dive into what it was like for the soldiers in the Trojan horse if there was one :)
Also I particularly like the section of this podcast that covers the Iliad. I just listened to the Iliad earlier this year and it’s tough to follow without someone to discuss it with and I feel like this podcast gives me that. :) I think I’m going to re-listen to it because I have more points at which I can check in with my own understanding now. Thanks Jeff!”
