Could be so much better.
I appreciate the subject matter covered, but the host seems sloppy in important ways: mediocre/poor sound quality in a time when this can be fixed easily; the host doesn’t seem to rehearse before recording (how could so many words and names be mispronounced? In the Dominque Dunn episode, I was embarrassed for the host - he consistently stumbled over words from his own script. And he didn’t take the time to learn how to pronounce the names of the people he discussed during the episode, such as writer Joan Didion. Ugh.) Moreover, the research seems hasty and drawn mostly from easy google searches. There is little empathy or insight expressed, just easy outrage in mostly monotone. The whole podcast is shabby. It doesn’t need to be! There is potential!

I like the clear and concise way he tells the story. The recordings interspersed are well timed and beneficial. I don’t often like multiple recordings played, but this is very well done and easy to hear.
