The podcast that got me started with afterbuzz
I first started listening to afterbuzz after needing to find more in depth analysis of true detective season one and have been an addict ever since. I have to say this season has made me ponder but after this episode I can say that if you strip away the much used environment of California this season is really as good as last. When I look back on season one I do remember getting completely absorbed in the never ending talk of flat circles and carcosa, but when I got down to it, it was only in episode seven that the spaghetti monster was revealed and episode 8 that we got to see inside the world that propelled these two detectives. Even going back to the HBO inside interviews with both pizzilato and fukanawa they both agree that more important than the mystery is the arc of our two protagonists. This is the same journey we are taking with the protagonists this season. I am sticking with joe braswell in waiting to pleasantly being surprised. As far as this seasons mystery I was looking on Google and found an article about the possibility that the bigger bad is a play on the bohemian grove which is said to be a society for affluent men of the arts to share their ideas, that just so happens to be in California. Thanks for all the work you guys do on the show!!!
