Unnecessary narration
Wirth listening to, but the melodramatic narration needlessly bloats this podcast. It’s jarring and discordant in contrast to the plainly told but inherently riveting spy stories. Jack Barsky also told his story on I Spy and it was a crisper, more compelling listen without the sound effects and the inane “What would you do???!!!!” refrain.

More reviews of True Spies
The first episode was entertaining but I almost turned it off because the narration was just so awful. Story- 5 stars; narrator -1 star. Will be looking for something else.

The narrative style is very intriguing. The writers ask you to put yourself into the story while also effectively interviewing their subject. You come to know both the spy and yourself better by the end.

Very well done! Content for those that love history, spies, and podcasts in general! 10/10 recommend!
