I tried
I’m very interested in cults, extreme beliefs, and the psychology behind it all. I’ve really wanted to like this show, and often, I listen and it’s interesting…but, I think I need to stop listening because it sort of feels like the Lola show and I just find myself hating on her in my head, which isn’t cool. I’m not here to hate on the gal, she’s doing her thing, but it feels like she’s constantly self-promoting, and I’m more here to listen to cult stuff. There’s also sort of this Lola agenda behind the whole thing. You can tell it’s her way or the highway, which isn’t a great mindset to have if you’re interviewing people. And to be clear, I don’t care about the political part. I’m a liberal, go off ladies. Idk, it’s just eh not for me. I also have a bit of an issue with the way they casually discuss drug use. Drugs are addictive (all drugs, even caffeine, alcohol, and sugar), and they shouldn’t be acting like mushrooms will cure everyone because every body is different. Different bodies will react to those chemicals differently, and Lola isn’t qualified to tell people it’s going to make their lives better. For many people dealing with mental illness, it can actually make them significantly worse. It’s just a bit irresponsible to be advertising this as a cure all for trauma. Idk, I really tried, and I don’t hate it, I just think I’m gonna stop listening. I would still encourage others to give it a try and arrive at their own conclusions. I hope you get famous Lola (not even saying that in a mean-spirited way, genuinely mean it and wish you the best).

I stumbled on this podcast fairly recently. I quickly fell down the rabbit hole and binged every episode and can’t wait for new ones every week. By listening to these back to back you really can appreciate how much the hosts have grown as interviewers. They do a great job of keeping their guests...Read full review »

Love the guests they bring and questions they ask. The only reason it’s not 5 star is because the two girls talk too much about their own valley-girl daily lives with their whole “weekly culty things” in the beginning. It kills the mood so much and sometimes it spans to 15 minutes. Most times...Read full review »
