“This after-show show is fun. They do go over the plot and charactors even with the large artistic licence the show takes on with the truth. The real story is exciting enough without the turn around they have done with the Abe Woodhull (he finally has decided by the second episode how to pronounce his own name. It should be pronouced Woodell as that was the custom. I do have a background in history, having studied Intelligence History for over 30 years.
The hosts of the Afterbuzz show are relectant to look up the history of the Culper ring (I wish they would get to the story of the ring. It was Washington who asked Tallmage to form the ring as the spies that had been sent had been caught and hung by the British. Tallmage was the Yale classmate of Nathan Hale. Tallmage and Hale took part in a debate where they argued that daughters should be educated; they won. Also Anna Strong was in her forties and had six children at the time of the Revolution. The back story of Woodhull's father being a Tory is also made up out of whole cloth.
I hope Turn gets to the espionage and tell the history of how a small band of spies made a large contribution of the US winning its indepence.”
