Give us some more, time in a dream, give us a pod, that we can stream. It’s time to go back to school! It’s NBC’s weirdo tentpole comedy, Community! While you can probably take a wild guess that Max, Geoff, and Rich are all big fans and that they will just gush over this show. There are a lot of things to unpack. With tremendous cast and writing comes a complicated legacy and bizarre network choices that make this show rise to peak fandom on uncertain ground. While it’s easy to look back on this truly A++ cast and say “duh of course this is a hit” this show took a lot of chances and was the launching pad of some massive careers. Donald Glover, Gillian Jacobs, Alison Brie, Joel McHale, John Oliver, Yvette Nicole Brown, Danny Audi, Jim Rash, Dan Harmon, and Chevy Chase… hard to imagine all those big names together at once now.
