The importance of addressing climate change, food security, and inequality together is emphasized as they are interconnected issues.  GivingTuesday is identified as a platform that promotes values such as generosity, empathy, collaboration, and civic engagement in building sustainable communities.  Strategies from GivingTuesday South Africa are shared to inspire individuals and organizations to contribute towards creating positive change in society. Generosity and collaboration are important values in a community, whether it's individuals, nonprofits, or corporations coming together to solve issues.  Collaboration allows for the pooling of different skills and attributes to create effective solutions. The actions of one person can inspire others within the community to do good as well, creating a ripple effect.  Finally, both speakers touched on steps listeners can take to support initiatives addressing climate change, food security, and inequality include donating to food banks or starting one in their own community and finding initiatives that align with their causes of interest.
