“I came across this podcast on a whim and decided to give it a listen. I’m neither gay nor a military service member. So I had no idea of the hardships or struggles that came with being gay in the military during the DADT era. I’m blown away by Randy’s unwavering commitment to his job and this nation as well as to his life partner. The risks and potential dangers they both faced are pretty astounding to me and I’m so glad they’re still together after all that they’ve been through.
I have a new appreciation and better understanding for why it was so important to end DADT and to let LGBTQ service members serve openly.
At its core, this podcast is really a love story and it’s a beautiful one at that. Thanks to Randy and Lucas for sharing their stories.”
