Master storytelling informs while entertaining
I have been enjoying Aaron Mahnke’s other works, so I was curious to find out how he was going to approach this new podcast. My spouse and I listened together as we took our walk this weekend, and it was engrossing. It has the earmarks of a Mahnke work — solid research conveyed in an engaging way — but unlike his other works, he integrates interviews with historians, so this series has more of an historical investigative reporting sensibility. This format gives this story a different kind of heft. I feel like I am learning something important here about an historical event that, as Aaron points out, has become obscured over time. I am looking forward to continuing to listen and learn.
