“Growing up in a secular Jewish home, I became Orthodox as an adult, only to find myself drifting away from being religious in recent years. That said, I thought I was going to find this podcast really interesting. I cannot believe how disappointed I am in this podcast. It might be wise to get someone who is knowledgable about Jewish theology and history before declaring, as you said to Elna Baker, “your panel of Jewish experts.” The fact that no one knows the internal and external forces throughout Jewish history that keep one identifying as Jewish even if they are not religious, that no one seems to understand the concept of being the Chosen People, and that I have never heard a Jewish prayer that starts ‘we thank you for the bounties’ might make this podcast funny and snarky (to some), but it doesn’t add to the discussion of substantial Jewish issues. It was like listening to my uninformed cousins talking about being Jewish, when they have no idea of what they are talking about. This might be better called Secular Jewish Roundtable.”
