“This show doesn’t follow too close to its premise, and I’m unclear on what its point is. The host does softball interviews of his guests, and never challenges them; so it’s basically their platform. Some of these guests “are changing the game”, as the host is tritely fond of repeatedly saying, by doing things that negatively impact our society and our democracy, but you’d never know that listening to the host. His interview skills are probably the single biggest thing holding this podcast back, unfortunately. This podcast is the intellectual equivalent of listening to branded content. It’s a big disappointment because I thoroughly enjoy most CSIS podcast, unfortunately after listening to each of the 12 episodes to date, this is not one of them.”
