A story that needed telling
This well-researched podcast sheds light on the dark and shocking secrets of an institution that operated for decades, in the not-so-distant past, as a reform school for black youths. The narration evokes a vivid picture of what life there was like for the inmates, many of whom had committed only a minor crime (often with no trial) or no crime at all. I’ve waited eagerly for each new episode to be released. This is history that should not be swept under the rug; efforts at censoring stories like this from school curricula are outrageous, and a disservice to ALL students.

The advertisement style and frequency of these makes it difficult to stay engaged in the story. It’s a shame because I was really interested in learning about this awful place. I gave up listening altogether
