This is a must listen for American Americans. I remember the words scallawag and carpetbagger from Louisiana history class in high school. They were not described in a flattering manner, to put it mildly. This subject, reform schools for blacks, adult prisons/slave labor camps for from Jim Crow felons and similar subjects should be taught in high schools. If the last decade is an indication of things to come, the next generation will stop honoring and displaying statues of the traitors of the Civil War. I’d like to hear a podcast about black family farms and property where repossessed from their families during Jim Crow and the Great Depression.
