Great podcast
By far one of the best podcast I’ve ever listened to on the social ills of America and specifically the South. The research is brilliantly detailed and comes from the perspective of a person who is proving society wrong. Anyone saying race doesn’t matter needs to look deeper. The narrator and researcher of this podcast is a young lady who for all practical reasons should not understand or even care about this case, yet she does and I applaud her. Taking yourself out of a place of privilege and looking at the inequality of others is the hardest thing a person can do. It is done so well in this podcast. The podcast is so good that I find myself so distraught for the kids of this reformatory (inaccurate name) that I’m listening in pain as if they were still children………and they are now adults.

This is so needed! Not an easy listen, but it shouldn’t be. A small note: no southerner I know says “pecan orchard”. They’re groves.
