Disappointing
I’ve made it part way through the second episode. It’s an important story and I’ll most likely finish the series. Truly heartbreaking. I’m disappointed because the narrator chooses to apply a broad stereotype of Alabama and it’s current citizens as racist. I’m sure there are racist organizations and communities but I don’t know a single Alabamian that “celebrates” Robert E Lee day. Don’t apply broad characterizations that foment discontent. Alabamians generally unite over conservative values, culture, sports and many other positive, non-racist activities. I am disappointed that the narrator, not native to Alabama, chooses to equate the Alabama from 60 years ago to the Alabama of today. Tell this important story and add to its credibility, honor progress, by contrasting the culture changes over decades and generations.

This is a wonderfully done podcast. Ms. Rice does a great job of combining facts and personal experiences to relay the information and atrocities that occurred at Mount Meigs. Thank you.

Love the history but episodes are too short and filled with ads. It’s like 15 mins of content per week.
