On the afternoon of 3 May 2014, 88-year-old Russell Dermond and his 87-year-old wife Shirley were expected over at a neighbor's home for a Kentucky Derby party. However, the elderly couple never showed up or called to apologize, something that was very unlike them. Hours passed. Then days. Nobody spoke with or saw the Dermonds, who were absent from their usual routines. Both were conspicuously absent not only through the weekend, but early into the next week. Finally, on Tuesday, a pair of neighbors decided to make a house call and check in on the missing pair, who hadn't been seen or heard from in nearly four days...
