“I LOVE this podcast. I never knew the style I’ve been leaning toward is unschooling. The name unschooling is kind of wonky and a bit of a turn off, in my opinion. But learning what it IS actually gives me courage to finally fully jump in. I tried the curriculum route, and my kids have hated all of it. If only I had gone this route 7 years ago!! Though I’d dabble, I never committed. Though, I have to tell you I did teach my second oldest to read in an unschooling fashion. And when Sue said, in her podcast on reading, that once these kids start reading there’s no stopping them, I laughed out loud! It’s so true, he will not put his books down! Even though he was a “late” reader according to standards set by people who don’t know my kids, he blossomed when I gave him space and now he’s a book worm. Evidence that I can trust unschooling with the other subjects. I’m so excited for this new adventure! Thank you Sue!”
