Good at times, but often veers too far off course
Kevin is a great writer, and one of the most reasonable and grounded writers on baseball and the minor leagues. Jason, too, is a gifted analyst. As a duo, the two work well in that Jason's scouting expertise can often fill the holes in Kevin's repertoire, as he's known more for his ability to work phones/network with scouts rather than scout players himself (though he certainly does attend a large number of Midwest League games). The problem with this podcast, however, is that the two often get away from what they do well (baseball) and get into morning radio DJ territory, talking about Boing! or Kevin's mom or what have you. While I commend them for the fact that they are having fun -- and it's obvious they are -- they routinely produce a 130 minute podcast with about 90 minutes of loose fat. Though the 40 minutes of goodness is often very, very good (and filled with great interviews with intelligent and well-respected baseball folks), the other 90 minutes drags the podcast down.

I just listened to the first 20 minutes of one show and maybe 30 seconds had to do with baseball.

I love the depth of insight mixed with the fun and drama. There are interesting guest and discussion topics. This is my favorite baseball podcast.

I can't believe I could listen to a 2 hour program. Kevin and Jason are entertaining, and really get inside the game and business of baseball, and more. Thanks for the great work!
