‘Memory is necessary at a certain level, but when memory becomes merely mechanical action in human relationships, it becomes a danger and creates mischief.’ This week’s episode on Memory has five sections. The second extract (8:26) is from the fourteenth talk in Ojai 1949, and is titled: We Live on Memories. The third extract (21:40) is from Krishnamurti’s third talk at Brockwood Park in 1983, and is titled: Does Memory Cause Suffering? The fourth extract (38:03) is from the second talk in Amsterdam 1981, and is titled: We Are Nothing But Memory. The final extract (48:56) is from Krishnamurti’s second talk in Ojai 1984, and is titled: Motive Is Born of Memory Each episode of the Krishnamurti podcast features carefully selected clips from Krishnamurti’s talks. The aim is to represent different aspects of Krishnamurti’s radical approach to many of the issues and questions we all face in our lives. Upcoming themes are Care, Not-knowing and The self.
