“If you are just getting started, are well-established, or teaching classes on User Experience, this podcast has something for you.
Jason, the show’s host, has created a fun and super unique format for his episodes and interviews. All of his questions and talking points mimic a superhero/comic book themed framework. With this as the underlying thread through the show, he reinforces the deeply meaningful aspects of the work we do as user experience designers. Every guest answers the question, “how do you fight for your users?” Not only does each guest have an insightful answer to this question, but since it’s raised in this way, Jason reaffirms that we are DEFENDING our users. I love how integral “empathy” is when we discuss UX this way.
Not only have I received great insight, tips, tools, and book recommendations from this show, I reached out to Jason on Twitter, specifically with some deeper questions of my own. Despite my being such a little fish in the UX world, Jason (designer/host/dad of 7) took the time out of his busy schedule to respond to me in lengthy detail with advice, resources, and personalized ideas for my situation. Not only is he gracious on the show, but his humility and generosity are 100% authentic off-air too. He truly cares about this industry, his listeners, his guests, and ultimately fighting the good fight for all of our users. I hope someday to have a similar pedigree and track record to reflect on. Until then, I’ll be here in Portland, fighting for my own users.
Cheers Jason, if you read this. And if you are UXer trying to decide if you should add this to your podcast que? The answer is emphatically YES. A MUST LISTEN.”
