Great teaching tool
I would normally give high marks to anyone (or any duo) who try to educate the world about ethics, morality, psychology, and philosophy. Very Bad Wizards goes above and beyond a good effort and fills an important niche. While the podcasts contain bawdy, course, and crude humor (simultaneously, informed consent is given at the beginning of each episode), their style of humor does not take away from the theme of each episode (although Pizarro likes to laugh a great deal). And, I have posted a number of their podcasts on my site, Ethics Education and Psychology, to help teach certain issues, such as utilitarianism, agency and situationism, and virtue ethics. Pizarro and Sommers offer honest conversations about a range of topics. In each podcast, I have learned something important about ethics, morality, social psychology, and decision-making processes. Hopefully, you will learn something new in each podcast as well.

The title alludes to the 1993 classic The Wizard of Oz and every other episode mentions Pulp Fiction and The Big Lebowski, but if you listen closely, there’s more than...Read full review »
